Foundation repair & basement restoration

Patrick did an impeccable job on our 1908 basement (crumbling stone foundation & semi-finished floor). We picked him from two other competitive bids. He came in on schedule, and on budget. The job entailed prepping and parging the walls, floor demo & prep for laying radiant heat, pouring a new slab (which involved ensuring the cement recipe was right for polishing). He came back in when we asked if he could do some finishing work on the seams between the walls and floor. His team is efficient, they clean up, and the whole crew -- esp Patrick -- is craft proud, which is rare these days. He was communicative from start to finish (with us, and with the other contractors) and professional at all times. He's a gem, and you'll be lucky to work with him. Before and after pics below.

Patrick from MRW was recommended to us by a friend when we needed repointing on the fieldstone foundation of our 100+‑year‑old home. He was prompt and highly professional during the initial consultation, clearly identifying the areas that required immediate attention and those that could be deferred, which helped us stay on budget. Throughout the project, Patrick and his team worked efficiently and navigated the physical constraints of our basement with ease. When we requested a minor adjustment mid‑project, they were accommodating and implemented the changes without any impact on schedule or cost. We’re already planning to hire Patrick and MRW again for future work.

Patrick and MRW were recommended to me by a friend. We needed their masonry services to repair a crack in our house's foundation. Once scheduled, the work took only one business day! MRW filled the crack both inside and outside with cement, and installed steel plates to prevent any cracks from re-forming. I was particularly impressed by how carefully and neatly they excavated the spot, addressed the foundation's issues in a secure and aesthetically pleasing way, and replaced the paving stones so you couldn't even tell they had been removed. I would recommend their services, and will think of them if I have any future masonry needs!

I can’t stress enough how happy I am with the work that Patrick and his team did. About 10 feet of the stone foundation on my house I recently bought was crumbling above ground. I hired another contractor who did such a terrible job. That person removed the stones and filled in the hole with brick and concrete. It looked terrible and there were holes everywhere. Patrick was able to remove the mess the other contractor made and built the foundation back up with stone. This was such an amazing relief. The work they did looks great and it blends in with the rest of the foundation. In addition, they went above and beyond- They filled in around my water pipe and filled in a small hole I could see some daylight coming in, which wasn’t part of the initial scope. They also repointed some other areas that looked like they could use it. And they even repointed another repair job someone in the past used spray foam to fix.

We are so happy we found Patrick! We interviewed and dealt with many masonry companies as we had a lot of foundation/basement issues (water leakage, bowing walls, etc.). He is the only person we will EVER work with in the future. He repointed our entire basement (~950sq ft), installed permanent lally column, and did some work outside as well to prevent water leakage to the basement. The entire work was done in about 1 week. His team is amazing as well - all are very respectful, professional and responsive. He will honestly tell you what really has to be done and what can wait until later. Patrick will be on site even over the weekend to finish the project or make sure everything is done to perfection. Just a pleasure to work with! Highly highly recommend him and his crew!

Patrick and his crew were great. He came out and did a thorough assessment before recommending how to fix it.
They took the time to explain what they were doing, why and how. They also answered many of my dumb questions and explained very well the different parts of a foundation.
The quality of their work was great. They put the lawn back so well that I couldn't even tell where they dug. The repairs look seamless and now there is no more water!

Excellent experience! I have an older home with a fieldstone foundation needing some attention. Patrick took a look and put together a quote with a few different options (there are always "more options" with an older home...). Finding time in his busy schedule took a bit, but it was worth the wait. MRW Contractors stayed on budget and put in quality work as promised. On top of that, they were friendly folks and cleaned up well! Patrick will be my first call when thinking about the next project.

MRW Contractors did a great job in our basement. We had some areas where the masonry was falling in chunks and needed repointing. Patrick came for an estimate, gave me a price and a date. Patrick’s team came right on time and were very tidy.

Patrick came out swiftly when requested for a quote. We had a few contractors tell us we needed to replace the entire foundation of our house for $20k or more! Patrick shared that would not be necessary and some parging should hold us in good shape for the next 10-20 years. Job was well done as reviewed by another outside, non-related contractor (not just my civilian take) and they came on the weekends for a small up-charge that I suggested in order to meet the tight timeline we had. Definitely reccomend!

For years my Wife and I have been struggling with the ungodly view of our front stairs, retaining wall and foundation. After MRW was hired, that all went away. The house is now fully presentable with new Granite Stair, Stone veneers and retaining wall repairs. We have received a ton of compliments. Also, in conclusion, this is the 1st time a contractor did not start 1 day and disappear for weeks before returning to complete the job. Everything was done in a professional and timely manner, all the existing trades should pull from the same playbook.

I spoke with the owner Pat explained my situation that a car struck the side of my house and knocked in my stone foundation. Pat came right out explained what had to be done and offered me a very reasonable quote, the end result, exceeded my expectations. They finished the job ahead of schedule.
